Eye Define's Simple 3-Step Application:
FAQ
Who is a good candidate for the Eye Define Eyelid Lift?
Anyone with
drooping eyelids and deep-set eyes should see an improvement with
Eye Define, and in many cases the improvement is dramatic. People with very small eyelids or eyelids that are very large (out-set or "prominent") may or may not see an improvement.
How many lifts come in each box?
Each box of Eye Define contains 64 lifts (a one month supply with daily use).
Are the restorative lifts visible when on the eyelid?
The lifts are invisible on most people and will seem to disappear on the lid. If you have very small eyelids or very large lids, the
lifts may not be as invisible as on a person with deep-set eyes. This varies from person to person as we have customers with very large eyelids who report that it works well for them.
How often can you use the Eye Define Eyelid Lift?
Most of our customers use Eye Define daily to correct
droopy eyelids, eliminating that “tired” look. Some customers use it only for special occasions.
Eye Define is used by executives who want to look younger and more alert for corporate photos, and by photographers and make-up artists who want to make their clients look younger and brighter. Several of our customers have used
Eye Define on occasion to change the shape of the upper lids for a more dramatic look!
Does Eye Define provide a permanent fix for my eyes, lasting results, or is it just a temporary fix?
Eye Define is a temporary fix for drooping eyelids, lasting as long as the
lifts are on the eyelids. The product was designed for daily use to act as a substitute for surgery. Even eyelid surgery does not offer permanent results.
Do the Eye Define lifts ever fall off?
If you follow the Eye Define directions properly, the lifts will not fall off. One side of the
lift is extremely sticky and a gel is included to apply first, allowing you to move the
lifts around. You can take them on and off and readjust them until they are positioned properly. Once you're happy with the placement of the
lifts, leave them where they are and they will set in place after about a minute or two and stay in place for an entire day (about 12-18 hours).
Does Eye Define reduce the “tired” look? I'm so sick of people saying I look tired when I'm not!
Eye Define customers regularly send us emails about how many compliments they receive from friends, co-workers, and family after using our product. We have found that not only can the product reduce the tired, heavy look associated with sagging eyelids, but takes 10-15 years off your look in many cases.
I have a little droopiness but the eyelid is still visible. Can Eye Define be used to give a lift for someone who does not have a completely covered lid?
Yes, you can use Eye Define if your eyelids are still visible! The idea is to lift the drooping eyelid area (even slightly) and restore it to a curved shape. The
Eye Define lifts are very thin, translucent, and have a hypoallergenic (very sticky) adhesive on one side. The gel that is applied to the adhesive allows the
lifts to be removed and reapplied as many times as necessary to achieve the right positioning. Once you're happy with the result, the
lifts will "set" in a minute or so and stay put.
I am interested in your product for my father, yet none of the photos are of men. Can
Eye Define be used on men?
Yes! In fact, many of our customers are men. If your father has
heavy eyelids that are obscuring his vision,
Eye Define seems to alleviate this issue for most people. If he is older and his eyelid skin is thinner (as happens when you age), be sure to follow the directions and remove the eyelid
lifts slowly and carefully.
Does Eye Define work for people with dark skin or people of color?
Yes. The Eye Define lifts are clear when applied, so the color of your eyelid will show through. If you have dark skin, the color of your skin will show through. If you have eye shadow on your lids, the color of the eye shadow will show through.
What is the gel that is used with Eye Define? Is it safe for the skin? Does the product contain latex?
The Eye Define lifts are coated with a medical grade, hypoallergenic adhesive. The gel is petrolatum based and is applied over the adhesive which retains the strong adhesion but also allows them to be applied and reapplied in the application process, without loss of adhesion or too much pulling on the skin. The gel also makes removal easy. Since the adhesive is hypoallergenic, it should not irritate the skin. If the skin on the eyelid becomes irritated, we advise our customers to discontinue use. As noted above, the gel contains a petroleum product. If you are sensitive or allergic to petroleum based products you should not use
Eye Define. The product does not contain latex.
Is Eye Define a double eyelid tape?
What is typically referred to as “double eyelid tape” is a product specifically designed to create a crease for Asian eyes that do not have one, forming a visible lid when the eyes are open, thus the name “double eyelid tape”. Generally, double eyelid tapes are small crescents made from a stiff plastic material with adhesive on one side, often with an embossed pattern on the top. To create the double eyelid look, the tape must be strong enough to create a crease against the resistance of the smooth skin toward the back of the eyelid.
Eye Define is made of a very thin, lighter weight material that is applied over an existing crease, securing the skin in place and keeping it from sagging forward.
Eye Define can smooth out the top curve of the eyelid while holding the skin in place, but is not stiff enough to create enough of a resistance to create a non-existent crease similar to
eyelid tape.
Does Eye Define work better than eyelid lift cream?
Yes. Eye Define is an effective substitute for blepharoplasty, or upper eyelid surgery. The only way to achieve the same effect without surgery, is to add external physical support to replace the breakdown of the underlying collagen structure, which is the reason skin sags. Eyelid lift creams promise to revitalize this underlying collagen support structure with consistent use, which is a myth. Collagen production is an internal systemic process that is not affected by topical eyelid lift creams. Some firming eyelid lift creams can temporarily plump the skin around the eyes, giving the skin a smoother appearance, but no “eyelid lifting cream” is strong enough to hold the skin back or repair the breakdown of the underlying collagen structure.
Will sweat, water, or perspiration cause the strips to loosen and come off?
How well the strips resist water and sweat depends on the type of skin you have and how much you sweat. If your skin is oily, the strips will not stay adhered as well as they will on dryer, less oily skin. If you sweat a lot. the strips may tend to whiten. To find out, you can test them in a scenario where you're hot and sweating (like working out) to know what happens with your skin.

Application/Removal
How long does one application last?
Again, this varies from person to person. A person whose lids tend to remain dry can wear them longer than a person whose eyelids are moist. Some
Eye Define users leave them on overnight and some remove them before bed. We recommend that they be removed before bed or if they cause discomfort at any time.
Is Eye Define easy to apply?
Many Eye Define users have reported to us that they have no difficulty with the application at all. Others report that at first they had difficulty with the application, but after becoming familiar with the characteristics of the
lifts and in particular the placement of the lifts on the eyelid, it becomes as easy as any other make-up application. The old adage “practice makes perfect” certainly applies here. The
lifts can be put on and removed a number of times so you can experiment to find the perfect position on your upper lids.
Can make-up be applied with Eye Define?
Yes, definitely. Apply your make-up as you usually do. Then put the gel on the
lifts (a very small amount, just enough to cover the sticky side of the
lift) and place the Eye Define
eyelid lift strips on your eyelids over your makeup in the best position for you.
Can eye shadow be used with the product?
Yes, eye shadow can be used with the product, but we suggest that you become comfortable applying the product first before using eye shadow. We also recommend that you start by putting the eye shadow under the brow bone and not on the eyelid. When you are proficient with the application and are ready to apply the product over eye shadow on the lid, apply your make-up as you usually do. Then put the gel on the
lifts (a very small amount, just enough to cover the sticky side of the
lift with a thin film) and place the Eye Define lifts on your eyelids over the eye shadow in the best position for you.
Can eye shadow be applied on top of the lifts?
Powder eye shadow won’t stick to the lift. If you use powder eye shadow, put the shadow on first and apply the
lift over it (see previous question). The color will show through. If the shadow wears off around it, touch it up. You can also apply the
lifts without shadow on your eyelids but instead put the eye shadow back behind them in the hollow under the brow bone to accent your eye. Or you can do both. Some types of cream eye shadow will adhere to the
lifts and you can rub cream shadow color into the lifts while they’re still on the backing to color them. You can then place them over the same shadow already applied to the lids. Testing and user experiences have shown that putting the
lifts over the makeup works best. People amaze us with the creative ways they use makeup, though so we encourage you to experiment. Keep in mind it usually takes some experimenting to learn where to place the
lifts on your eyelid correctly in the beginning. We recommend that you first start without makeup, get comfortable with the product and then see what works best for you with makeup. I wouldn't use eye shadow when first learning to use it as you'll probably put it on and take it off a number of times before you're satisfied with the results. I've done it every way you can with good results.
The Eye Define lifts seem to fit my eyes very well, but lift is still slightly visible. Does that mean I’ve placed it incorrectly?
If the lift is visible, it's possible you are not putting it back far enough on your lid. You'll know if you've put it back too far because your lid will flip up. If you put it as far back as it can go and you can still see the
lift, you can use makeup to camouflage it. It’s also possible you don’t have enough eyelid surface for
Eye Define to work effectively.
After I have applied the Eye Define lifts, I notice there's a slight buckle in the middle of the
lifts. How do I prevent this from happening?
It’s possible the lifts are buckling because they’re too long for the width of your eye. Try snipping the ends off after you remove each
lift from the backing. This will not reduce the effectiveness of the
lift and should prevent buckling if the length is interfering with the adhesion. Another possibility is that you’re putting too much gel on the
lifts. You only need a tiny amount, just enough to cover the sticky side of the
lifts with a thin layer, just a film. Try not to get any gel on the non-sticky side. Then, once in place, give the
lifts a minute or so to set so they adhere well. I often pat the lifts lightly with my fingertips a few times over a minute or so until they are firmly adhered to my lids. It's a very dry process with no excess gel or moisture anywhere.
Can I put moisturizer on my eyelids before I apply Eye Define?
We do not recommend using moisturizer on your eyelid before you apply Eye Define. Moisturizers often contain irritants that might cause redness or irritate your lids when using our product. Put moisturizer only on the skin above your eyelids, between your lid and eye brow.
How are the lifts removed? Are the lifts difficult to take off after a day's wear?
Adding the gel to the adhesive before you apply the lifts makes it easy to remove them. The
lift will loosen and then you can peel it off easily after a day’s wear. The
lifts are a bit harder to remove after only a few hours of wear but the process is the same. You just peel them off a bit more slowly since the adhesive will stick more tightly than at the end of the day.
Does the Eye Define gel come off easily, and how is it removed?
The gel is soft like a cream, remains soft, is colorless and can be removed with any makeup remover. You can't see the residue left after removing the
lifts and sometimes it feels a little sticky. Albolene makeup remover works well and is available in most drugstores. Any makeup remover will work, however.

Medical Conditions
I have Horner's Syndrome. Will Eye Define work for me?
We get numerous inquiries from people who ask if Eye Define can help with
eyelid drooping that is caused by nerve or muscle dysfunction.
Eye Define is not designed to fix nerve or muscle dysfunction, however in some cases,
Eye Define has offered improvement for these types of conditions. The product essentially holds the skin on the upper portion of the lid in place, keeping it from sagging down toward the lashes. This is accomplished by adding support at the top of the lid (where the lid meets the brow bone). There is a fold line on the eyelid, usually found higher up on the lid, that the
lift is placed over which keeps the skin in place. If the
eyelid droop is caused by the inability of the muscle to hold it up, our product is not likely to help.
Eye Define might help, however, if the droop is being caused by the weight of the sagging skin pushing the lid down.
I have myasthenia gravis which causes my eyelids to be weak and droop. Will your
Eye Define eyelid lift work for me?
We have customers with myasthenia gravis and other eye conditions who have found a way to improve the look of their eyes with
Eye Define. Eyelid dysfunction creates varying problems with the eyes and sometimes
Eye Define offers an improvement and sometimes not, depending on the issue.
I have a left upper eyelid that drops down. In other words, the left eyelid does not open as wide as the right eyelid. Can
Eye Define fix this problem?
Eye Define is designed to hold sagging skin in place, keeping loose skin from drooping forward. If your left eye is drooping due to the weight of the skin pushing down on it,
Eye Define will probably be of help. If the problem is purely muscle dysfunction however,
Eye Define won’t solve that problem.
If you have allergies that make your eyes water, will this affect the lifts?
No, probably not. However, if your eyes are affected by allergies and tearing, we do not recommend using
Eye Define. It’s never a good idea to apply something to eyes very sensitive to allergies, although the adhesive is hypoallergenic.
